Associate Professor Nicolás Parra-Herrera named inaugural Wagner/Holbrook Presidential Chair in Negotiation
When Associate Professor Nicolás Parra-Herrera wrote his thesis about the Socratic philosophy for his master’s degree, Socrates’ way of examining himself and others through conversation resonated with him. He has carried this emphasis on dialogue to his career in law and was recently named the Wagner/Holbrook Presidential Chair in Negotiation.

Establishing the Wagner/Holbrook Presidential Chair in Negotiation
Thanks to a $5 million gift from the I.J. & Jeanné Wagner Foundation, the S.J. Quinney College of Law is establishing the Wagner/Holbrook Presidential Chair in Negotiation, which will support recruitment and retention of tenured or tenure-track faculty in the field of negotiation.
Remembering Professor Emeritus Bill Lockhart
Professor Emeritus William (Bill) J. Lockhart, who taught at S.J. Quinney College of Law for nearly 50 years, passed away April 16, 2024, at age 90.
