STUDENT BAR ASSOCIATION & ORGANIZATIONS
Student government and student organizations are an important part of the Juris Doctor (JD) experience. They complement the academic curriculum by providing opportunities for professional growth, leadership, community engagement, networking, and career development.
The S.J. Quinney College of Law offers a variety of JD student organizations that reflect the diverse interests of its students. As student interests evolve, new organizations may be established to meet the changing needs of the law school community.
In addition to College of Law organizations, JD students are welcome to join the many Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) offered across the University of Utah.

STUDENT BAR ASSOCIATION
The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the official student government for Juris Doctor (JD) students at the S.J. Quinney College of Law.
The SBA represents the interests of the student body and serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration. It advocates for students on matters such as curriculum, grading policies, class and exam scheduling, legal clinics, and other academic and student-life issues.
The SBA also serves as the College of Law's Student Advisory Committee (SAC). As voting members of the College Council, SBA Board members represent students in discussions with law school leadership and participate in faculty retention, promotion, and tenure review processes.
In addition to its advocacy role, the SBA sponsors social events, service projects, and wellness initiatives that foster community, engagement, and a sense of belonging within the College of Law.
Constitution of the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law Student Bar Association
We the students of the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, in order to promote shared governance on campus; further enrich the professional and social interests of students while attending law school; further scholastic attainment; promote understanding among faculty, students, and alumni; coordinate activities of the law school community; provide a forum for student concerns; cooperate with national, state, and local bar associations, and with other law school students through the American Bar Association Law Student Division; and participate in the activities of the American Law Student Association, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the University of Utah Student Bar Association.
ASUU COLLEGE OF LAW REPRESENTATIVES
The ASUU (Associated Students of the University of Utah) Student Government, much like the United States federal government, consists of an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a judicial branch. These branches work together to accomplish the varied functions of ASUU to serve the student body as effectively as possible.
