It’s never too early to start planning to get licensed as an attorney!

In Utah, law school graduates can become licensed via the new Alternate Pathway Licensure rules or by taking the Bar Exam. Most jurisdictions other than Utah only allow licensure via a bar exam. Regardless of your licensure path, your journey starts in your first year, as you develop essential legal skills and knowledge. Throughout your second and third years, you’ll choose courses, explore Bar prep or Alternate Pathway Licensure options, plan your study schedule, and apply to the jurisdiction where you decide to seek licensure.

The Bar Exam is held twice a year, usually on the last Tuesday and Wednesday In February and July.
