Kyle Lowe is a Research Associate and Fellow at the Wallace Stegner Center for Land Resources and the Environment where he is a member of the Great Salt Lake Project. He first joined the Wallace Stegner Center in 2026. His research focuses on how law and policy can be leveraged to help solve the challenges facing Great Salt Lake. Kyle works with colleagues to disseminate policy suggestions to policymakers, state leaders, and the affected public.
Kyle graduated first in class from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering and a minor in Biodiversity Conservation. He graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, receiving a J.D. with a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources. While in law school, Kyle served as Executive Environmental Editor of the Utah Law Review and was a member of S.J. Quinney's Pace Environmental Law Moot Court Competition team.
Beyond research, Kyle enjoys trail running, hiking, and backpacking. When not outside, he is an avid reader and spectator of professional soccer. Kyle's deep love of the natural world and desire for a sustainable, healthy planet motivates his work.
