Home The Dean’s Debate Series

A series of insightful, invigorating debates on issues that matter to Utahns and our state.

Throughout 2026, our Dean’s Debate Series will welcome legislators, legal scholars, local leaders and other prominent guests to the S.J. Quinney College of Law to debate topics of significance to Utah’s communities.

In bringing together different viewpoints and perspectives, the Dean’s Debate Series highlights the value of professional debate—and the essential role of the free exchange of ideas in American society. The series showcases what we, as Utahns, are so proud of: our capacity to hold differing views and disagree respectfully, while coming together as a dynamic and caring community.

The Dean’s Debate Series is free and open to the public.

We will post upcoming debates here as they are scheduled.
