By Valeri Craigle for the Quinney Library Blog: Until today, if you wanted to search Twitter for your favorite sports scores, conference proceedings, or industry discussions, you only had about a week’s worth of tweets to draw from. Granted, that’s still several billion tweets, but today, Twitter announced that it will be making available to the public, its entire index of tweets going back to 2006. That’s over half a trillion documents! Twitter says the search engine will be rolled out in the next few days. In the meantime, think of your own use cases for some of your favorite topics: #911? #SupremeCourtFail #WardrobeMalfunction? the possibilities are endless.
