Over the past few weeks, it has been impossible to miss all the students walking around in suits at the law school and the employers wandering around the library. On-campus interview season is upon us! Because OCI is a weeks-long, very visible event at the law school, some students labor under the impression that it is the only way to land a desirable job. Others may think that if they do not have a GPA which puts them in the top 20% of the class, they will not find a satisfying job early in their career. Both of these are misconceptions.
On Wednesday, September 30, PDO will host one of its most popular panels—“The Other 80%”. The title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the reality that the vast majority of law students cannot be at the top of the class—yet are bright, capable, and will likely find a job which will be as satisfying one which might be found through OCI. The young attorneys (all recent Quinney alums) who will be panelists practice in the areas of litigation, immigration law, and criminal defense. They will discuss their experiences in law school, networking, and their career path. Do not miss this panel! Room 107, 12:15-1:15.
