ULaw Student Organization Marketing Guide

Posting Materials on Campus

  • Approved Locations: Flyers and posters may only be displayed on designated bulletin boards within the S.J. Quinney College of Law building.

    • Level 1: Student Wellness Center (red corkboard walls)

    • Level 2: Graduate Student Lounge and locker room by the café

    • Levels 3, 4, and 5: Corkboards near classrooms and locker rooms

  • Restrictions: Do not post materials on trees, buildings, walls, glass, or any other university structures unless expressly authorized by the Office of Student Affairs.

  • Approval Required: All flyers and posters must be stamped by the Union Service Desk before posting.

    • Contact: Work with the Union Service Desk prior to printing and posting materials.

  • Posting Etiquette: Do not cover or remove existing posters that are not yours. If you have concerns, contact the Natasha Carlton, Associate Director of Student Advising & Activities.

Digital Signage and Newsletter Promotions


The Utah Law Office of Marketing & Communications can help promote your organization’s events through digital signage in the law school and the College of Law email newsletter.

Available Services

  • Digital Signage

    • Submit requests at least 7 days before your event.

    • Graphics must be 1080 x 1920 pixels (Instagram Story size).

    • Displays will run on digital boards throughout the law school.

    • Note: The Office of Marketing & Communications does not design logos or marketing materials for student organizations.

  • College of Law Email Newsletter

    • Submit information that includes day, time, place, event format (in-person/Zoom), title, event description, and registration details. These requests should be submitted by the 25th of the month prior to the event (i.e. September event, deadline is August 25).

    • Events may be included in the newsletter sent to alumni and the public.

    • Note: This service is only available for events that are open to alumni and/or members of the public.

University Branding Guidelines


University of Utah Trademarks & Licensing regulates the use of University marks on all products and in association with entities outside of the University of Utah. This includes uses coordinated by University departments and programs. Department-specific branding is regulated by University Marketing & Communications in accordance with the University’s Brand Guidelines. However, Trademarks & Licensing is still responsible for making sure merchandise bearing the University’s likeness is sourced from licensed vendors.
