S.J. Quinney College of Law

The GSL Policy Accelerator Clinic is an upper-level law course at the S.J. Quinney College of Law that offers students hands-on experience developing legal and policy strategies to help protect Great Salt Lake.

Working under the supervision of law faculty and in collaboration with the broader Great Salt Lake Project, students in the clinic:

• • Draft legal memos, reports, and policy recommendations
  • Assist in preparing legislative updates
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and community outreach
  • Present findings to policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and the public

Legislative Updates

During Utah’s legislative session, we publish weekly updates that track water-related bills and budget proposals impacting Great Salt Lake. These updates are used by lawmakers, journalists, and advocates to stay informed and respond effectively.
