Heather Tanana, Assistant Professor of Law and Wallace Stegner Center Research Fellow has teamed up with the Native American Law Student Association student organization in a holiday drive for the Navajo nation. They are also collecting items for tribal members in Skull Valley Band of Goshute, Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, Ute Mountain Ute, and Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah.
The Utah Relief Foundation has partnered with Backcountry Santa who has recruited over 30 pilots to deliver the donated items. If you would like to assist in the drive this is how you can participate.
They are seeking the following donations: canned food, baking items, toilet paper, first aid kits, cold medicine, and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations can also be made at https://gf.me/u/y88f3g or via check made out to Utah Tribal Relief Foundation and mailed to PO Box 978, Lehi, UT 84043. Businesses and individuals interested in taking part in a Sub-for-Santa for specific families should contact the Utah Tribal Relief Foundation at utahtribalrelief@gmail.com. Donations for the Navajo Nation must be received by Friday, December 4. Items for the other Tribes will be accepted through December 15.
