Quinney College of Law Professor Louisa M.A. Heiny presented to the National Association of Legal Assistants and Paralegals recently as part of a continuing legal education course. Her presentation, titled Hearsay and the Confrontation Clause, explored the topic of hearsay from a broad perspective.

Heiny’s lecture examined how hearsay is defined, the basic rules on its admissibility in court proceedings and policy reasons behind the rules. The training also examined hearsay in the context of criminal trials, where the subject raises Sixth Amendment Confrontation Clause concerns.
