George to Be Honored at SLC’s Human Rights Day Celebration

On Wednesday, December 10, Erika George, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, will be honored by Salt Lake City’s Human Rights Commission and the Mayor’s Office of Diversity and Human Rights. The event commemorates the 66th anniversary of the United Nations’ ratification of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

At the event, which runs from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tracy Aviary, 589 E. 1300 South, George and the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault will receive the commission’s Human Rights Award.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students in advance, or $20 for adults and $12 for students at the door. Advance tickets are available here. All proceeds from the event will support the Human Rights Education Project, which educates refugee and immigrant populations about their legal rights in the U.S.
