Robin Craig, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, has been re-appointed to a position on the second-phase committee, the Committee to Review the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Program. The Habitat Conservation Program implements the Habitat Conservation Plan that supports the Edwards Aquifer Incidental Take Permit under the federal Endangered Species Act.
As Craig elaborates, “Essentially, the permit allows water users around the Edwards Aquifer in Texas to continue to pump water despite the presence of several federally listed endangered and threatened species in the connected springs.”
The first committee meeting will be held in September or October.
