George R. Sutton (’77) appointed to the Board of Directors of Glacier Bancorp
Sutton is an attorney and Of Counsel to the Salt Lake City-based law firm Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough where he has practiced since March of 2008. Sutton served as the Utah Commissioner of Financial Institutions from 1987 to 1992, where he was responsible for regulating all state-chartered depository institutions and all consumer financial services providers in Utah.
Christopher Harrington (’94) receives prestigious J. William Fullbright Foreign Scholarship Award to Pakistan
Christopher Harrington, a member of the Comanche Nation in Oklahoma and a SIPI staff member, has been selected to receive a J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship grant to Pakistan. Harrington is the chairperson of the Department of Liberal Arts and Business Education. He was selected by the presidentially appointed 12-member J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Under the program, Harrington will share his knowledge of Indian law, Native American communities and the higher education system with colleagues in Pakistan.
Kate Tipple (’15) joins Beveridge & Diamond Expands Litigation Practice
Tipple concentrates her practice on civil litigation and environmental matters, with an emphasis on water law and environmental litigation. She received a J.D. from the University of Utah, graduating with high honors. During law school, Tipple served on the Utah Law Review Executive Board and was selected for the Pace National Environmental Law Moot Court team, winning Best Brief for Appellant. She also received the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation Scholarship and was a legal intern with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, in the Intermountain Regional Solicitor Office.
