Col. Scott Driggs

Scott Driggs, Reserve JAG, Promoted to Colonel
College of Law class of 1994 alumnus Scott Driggs was promoted to the rank of colonel in the Air Force on April 1, 2016. For his current Air Force assignment, he is attached to the Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base. Scott Driggs is a regional chief counsel for the United States Department of Health and Human Services. He is also a reserve judge advocate for the United States Air Force.

2008 alumnus Benjamin Cloward becomes the youngest ever Trial Lawyer of the Year in Nevada
After helping his clients the Chernikoff family obtain a $15,000,000 for the death of their mentally disabled son, the Nevada Justice Association recognizes and awards University of Utah Alumni Benjamin Cloward the prestigious Trial Lawyer of the Year. Ben is the youngest person ever to receive this honor in the state of Nevada.

Benjamin Cloward obtains $12.9 million verdict to family of woman killed by a drunk driver
Benjamin Cloward along with Alison Brasier, Shawn Patrick Smith and John Torraco represented the family of Christina Kowarski, who was killed by a drunk driver. After a week-long trial, a jury returned a verdict of $12,955,013.99. $6.5 million of the verdict was awarded as punitive damages to deter others from making this horrible and selfish choice.

Benjamin Cloward obtains $15,000,000 verdict on behalf of mentally impaired client
He died alone. That’s what the parents of Harvey Cheyrnikoff, a mentally challenged man, are saying after their son choked to death on a local paratransit bus. It happened more than 4 years ago, but just last week, a jury awarded the family $15 million in a civil lawsuit. Cheyrnikoff’s family was represented by College of Law 2008 alumnus Benjamin Cloward.

Lowell C. Brown elected to the Executive Committee of Arent Fox
Lowell C. Brown, class of 1982, has been elected to the Executive Committee of Arent Fox LLP for a third term. Lowell is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office and also chairs its national Health Care practice group. In addition to these activities, keeping up with the Affordable Care Act is keeping him busy.

Class of 2013 alumna Lenora Plimpton Joins Bryan Cave Denver
On July 18, 2016, Lenora Babb Plimpton will start at Bryan Cave’s Denver Office as an associate in the Labor and Employment practice group. She joins the firm following a clerkship with Chief Justice Nancy Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court.
