S.J. Quinney College of Law Professor Paul Cassell was quoted in a July 28, 2016 story in the National Law Journal titled, “A Look at 30 Years of Lawyering That Helped Free John Hinckley.”
“People had a hard time accepting the idea the someone who could pull off an assassination attempt as sophisticated as Hinckley’s and with motivations that seemed perfectly rational could be found insane,” said Paul Cassell, a former federal judge in Utah and a criminal law professor at the University of Utah College of Law.
