Cassell Quoted in LA Times on Utah’s Return to Execution by Firing Squad

Paul_Cassell_e1davhPaul Cassell, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was quoted in a March 12, 2015 Los Angeles Times article, “Q&A: Why Utah wants to revive execution by firing squad.”

Cassell described Utah’s proposed legislation as “a common-sense backup plan.” “The first choice for an execution is lethal injection, in Utah and elsewhere,” he said. “But death penalty opponents have succeeded in making the availability of the required drugs uncertain.”
