Cassell invited to U.S. Justice Department’s National Summit on Crime Reduction and Public Safety

University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Professor Paul Cassell is in  Washington, D.C. on June 20 and 21 to attend the U.S. Justice Department’s National Summit on Crime Reduction and Public Safety.  The summit involves the top federal law enforcement leaders (including Attorney General Jeff Sessions), as well as prosecutors, police chiefs, and crime victims’ advocates from around the country, who are discussing ways to reduce violent crime.  

Cassell is one of 12 professors from around the country invited to attend the summit.  Cassell is recognized as a national leader on the issue of crime victims’ rights, and has frequently presented on crime victims’ rights issues to national, state, and local conferences on the subject.
