Carissa Hessick, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, will be presenting her new paper, Towards a Theory of Mitigation, at the NYU Criminal Law Theory Colloquium on Monday, February 23. Professor Hessick’s paper advances a pluralistic theory of mitigation. Her previous publications on the topic of sentencing mitigation have appeared in the California Law Review, Boston University Law Review and Southern California Law Review.
NYU has hosted the Criminal Law Theory Colloquium since 2011. Scholars from across the country are invited to present their works in progress and to receive feedback from other criminal law scholars who attend the colloquium.
