Article by ULaw Grad Cited in KSL News Story on Joe Hill

An article co-written by 2015 College of Law graduate Adam Pritchard was cited in a recent KSL News story on executed labor organizer and songwriter Joe Hill.

In1915, Hill was executed by a Utah firing squad for the murder of a Salt Lake City grocer and his son. Nonetheless, supporters continue to sing Hill’s songs and support claims that he was innocent.

A recent article by Pritchard and Salt Lake City attorney Kenneth Lougee casts some doubt on Hill’s guilt. Certain evidence that pointed to an alternate suspect was not allowed at trial.

“We are not saying he (Hill) was factually innocent,” Pritchard told KSL. “What we’re saying is that there was not enough evidence — or there was evidence that could rebut the evidence showing that he was guilty.”
