3L Adrianna Anderson was named Equal Justice Works Fellow at Legal Assistance of Western New York. Anderson will be working under the supervision of S.J. Quinney College of Law alumni Keith McCafferty, ’85.
The two-year fellowship fill focus on expanding LawNY’s consumer rights practice to help low-income individuals and families break out of the cycle of poverty.
“I am very excited to return home to establish a consumer protection project at LawNY. My goal for this project is to provide those in crisis with the tools necessary to deal with debt and achieve lasting economic security. Having dealt with poverty and homelessness as a child, I know how important it is to have an advocate on your side. Since coming to the University of Utah, I have made it my mission to become a public interest lawyer. I want to use what I have learned from my experiences in the Pro Bono Initiative and the Clinical Program to help others back home.”
