RSVP by tomorrow for Saturday’s “Mentoring Marathon” at the Utah State Bar

Plan to attend the 2011 Mentoring Marathon, sponsored by the Utah Minority Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar! The Marathon is this Saturday, 1:00-4:00 p.m., and is open to all classes.  You must RSVP by tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5 p.m.

The Mentoring Marathon is a great annual event.  Several attorneys (including hiring committee members) from large and small firms will be on hand to answer questions about how to find jobs in this difficult economy.  Last year over 50 law students from BYU and the U attended this event.  To RSVP, e-mail sections@utahbar.org (Megan Facer) the form found by clicking this link and bring an updated resume to the Marathon.  Basic details are below.

What:   Mentoring Marathon. Law students are invited to come and meet with attorneys and judges in a casual setting to discuss obtaining jobs, clerkships and internships in a difficult economy.  A panel of distinguished attorneys and judges will speak at the beginning on the effect of the current economy on the legal profession and employment prospects. Small attorney panels will meet with groups of students to discuss the following topics: Associates 411, Interviewing Skills, Professional Networking, Escape from Big Law, and Resume Reviews (bring your resume).

When: Saturday, January 22, 2011; 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Where: Utah Law and Justice Center, 645 South 200 East, Salt Lake City

Cost: FREE!
