Prosecutor Research Study

Prosecutor Research Study

University of Utah Law Professor, Shima Baughman has partnered with Megan Wright (Yale University Research Fellow), and Professor Chris Robertson (University of Arizona) in an ongoing academic study of decision making by state and local prosecutors. This study has been approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB 00069654).  This is a multi-state joint research project with participation from prosecutors in Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Alabama, Utah, California, Texas, and New York, and is expanding to reach prosecutors from across the nation.

This study simply asks that prosecutors review a few documents about a case, and answer questions about the charging decision they would make in that case. Participation is completely confidential.
