What is Lunches w/ Lawyers?

Networking.  Food.  A Student-Favorite PDO program.

What is Lunch with Lawyers?  Friday, October 7 marks the return of this very popular PDO networking program.   For this program, 3-4 attorneys visit campus to eat lunch with a small group of students.   The program is open to students from all three classes on a first-come, RSVP-required basis.  Participation is limited.  Read on for details!

When?  Several times during the year, usually on Fridays.  The first event is Friday October 7, at 12:15.

Where?   Locations may vary around the law school. The October 7th event will be held in the Borchard Conference Room.

Who’s invited?  Students from all three classes may attend.  You must RSVP.  Four or five students may sign up to eat lunch with each attorney.  (Remember the golden PDO rule:  your RSVP is sacred unless you have a serious emergency!  If you no-show, you have prevented someone else from having the opportunity—and we take that seriously.)

Three or four attorneys attend each time.   The attorney profiles are diverse.  PDO invites attorneys from different practice areas and types of employers each time.  For example, there may be attorneys from government agencies, firms, or non-profit agencies.   PDO will sometimes have a “theme” or practice area focus for a given lunch, but this is not always the case.  For example, the upcoming lunch on October 7 will feature attorneys in “alternative” and non-legal careers.

Attire?  Business casual.  Remember this is a professional networking event, so no jeans or shorts please.
