Ocean and Coastal Law

S.J. Quinney continues improvement of its natural resource course offerings. Offered this fall, for the first time, is Ocean and Coastal Law — offered by Robin Craig. Professor Craig spent last year at the Q as a visiting professor.  She will be staying on permanently, and is renowned in the areas of water and coastal law. Professor Craig also sits on the ABA Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources’s Executive Committee, and is excited for NRLF to get involved with SEER.

The school’s website isn’t providing any information about the new course, so we asked. According to Professor Craig, Ocean and Coastal Law will cover jurisdiction over the oceans, regulation in the coastal zone, ocean pollution regulation, ocean fisheries regulation, species protections in the oceans, ocean energy regulation, and the international aspects of ocean and coastal law, among other subjects. At least for this fall, students will have the option of either writing a paper on any related topic or taking a final exam.
