A New Academic Year for LABS Fellows – At graduation, we said a fond farewell to four graduating fellows; this academic year we have the great pleasure of welcoming twelve new or returning fellows to the Center who will be working on projects as diverse as accommodations for recipients of Social Security Disability to conflicts of interest to ethical and legal issues in genetics research. Our Center for Medical Innovation fellows will be helping student inventors entering the University’s Bench to Bedside competition with their preliminary patent applications.
Bench-to-Bedside, More than just a Science Fair – On April 9, 2018, students from the University of Utah took the state capitol building by storm for the 8th annual Bench to Bedside competition. This competition helps students take their education outside of the classroom and work to improve healthcare in Utah and abroad. It was founded in 2010 when a group of students wanted a more hands-on approach to their education.
