A recent USA Today article about the U.S. Supreme Court’s new term quoted Paul Cassell, a professor of law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.
In noting that Justice Kennedy generally, but not always, votes with the court’s conservative bloc, Cassell said: “I’m not sure Chief Justice Roberts has five votes for any decision that substantially breaks from precedent without the vote of Justice Kennedy.”
