On April 17, Salt Lake Tribune columnist Peg McEntee covered a speech delivered the day before at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law by Jamie Nabozny. In her column, McEntee recounted how Nabozny was bullied while growing up in rural Wisconsin because he is gay, and how he eventually prevailed in a lawsuit against the school district that failed to intervene when he was physically and verbally attacked at school. After three administrators were found liable, the Ashland School District settled with Nazbony for $900,000.
Nabozny’s presentation was sponsored by the Outlaws student group.
