On May 27, Terry Kogan, a professor of law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, was quoted in a Salt Lake Tribune sidebar to a national Associated Press article.
In the article, titled “Gay groups call federal marriage suit premature,” Kogan questioned the timing of the recent federal same-sex marriage lawsuit brought by two lawyers: “Were the [Supreme] Court to say that it’s OK for states to not allow same-sex couples to marry, I think it would have a serious spillover effect [and] might prove very damaging to the future of gay rights,” Kogan said.
