Student Litigation Society Schedules Two Events with Downtown Law Firms

The Student Litigation Society (“SLS”) is an organization that wishes to cultivate students’ interest in litigation. One of the best ways to do so is to put students in front of attorneys. SLS seeks to do this by organizing informal lunches. SLS Firm Lunches will provide wonderful networking and educational opportunities.

Each one-hour luncheon will consist of ten to 15 students visiting each firm in their office where they will discuss various aspects of litigation with three or four members of the firm’s litigation section. Every lunch will take place on Fridays so as to not interfere with any class. Students will meet SLS board members and student reps in the lobby of each firm at 12:20pm for a start time at 12:30pm.

Coming up, the SLS has scheduled two lunches in November: Manning Curtis Bradshaw & Bednar on November 9, and Durham Jones & Pinegar on November 16th. These are two of the top litigation firms in Utah, so come learn from some of the best.

On October 31, SLS will also be partnering with PDO to host a litigation panel that will consist of family law, criminal (defense/ prosecution) law, and a commercial litigator. If you are interested in any of these areas, please RSVP to the PDO email that will be sent out soon.

The luncheons are open only to SLS members who have paid their dues ($20 for all three years). To join SLS, simply contact Treasurer Chris Higley to make your membership payment.
