SL Trib Interviews Rosky after Judge Strikes Down Idaho’s Same-Sex Marriage Ban

After U.S. District Magistrate Judge Candy Dale May 13 ruling that Idaho’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Professor Clifford Rosky was interviewed by The Salt Lake Tribune.

“Last summer, the [U.S.] Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act because it humiliates tens of thousands of children of same-sex couples, and you don’t need to be a lawyer to understand what that means,” Rosky, told The Tribune. “The thing that gets lost in all this talk of states’ rights … is that the children neither know nor care whether their parents are being harmed by the federal government or the state government. They just know that their parents are being harmed and that they’re being harmed.”
