Sl Trib Covers College of Law Non-State Governance Symposium

Prior to being incarcerated, polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs visited each of the contiguous 48 states to ask that they be punished by God, according to Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff.

Shurtleff’s statement concerning the former leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was just one of the topics discussed during the Non-State Governance symposium, held at the College of Law on Feburary 6. The symposium explored the question of when it is appropriate to limit constitutional freedoms when members of a community are at risk.
