S.J. Quinney Hosts Women and Justice Roundtable Discussion

Professors Erika George and Linda Smith will host a panel discussion on Thursday, March 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Sutherland Moot Courtroom with participants of the International Visitor Leadership Program sponsored by the State Department and facilitated locally by the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy.

Participants are female activists, judges, lawyers, NGO leaders, and counselors who are representing their countries, from Singapore to Sierra Leone, during their three-day visit to Salt Lake City.

Women and Justice is a multi-regional project that is intended to “promote an appreciation for the rule of law and fair, transparent, accessible and independent judiciaries around the world; to recognize the global problem of violence against women and women’s lack of access to justice; and to create professional linkages among women in the legal field working to promote international cooperation in strengthening women’s access to justice,” according to the State Department.
