On Tuesday, October 6, Clifford Rosky, an Associate Professor of Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, participated in a meeting between Equality Utah, a non-profit organization that works to secure equal rights and protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Utahns and their families, and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert.
“The purpose of our meeting was to introduce the Governor to Equality Utah’s work, and to open a constructive dialogue about the problem of discrimination against gay and transgender Utahns,” Rosky said. “The Governor agrees that discrimination is wrong, and we look forward to working with him to determine the best way to address this problem in the State of Utah.”
The meeting drew significant press coverage, including articles in the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune, coverage by the Associated Press, and broadcast news stories on KUTV2 and Fox13.
