A new endowed scholarship at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law will open up the door for law students to pursue their dreams of becoming an attorney.
The I.J. Wagner Endowed Scholarship is named in honor of notable businessman, philanthropist and community leader I.J. “Izzi” Wagner, who died in 2005.
The $625,000 endowment, to be completed over five years through December 2025, will be paid by the I.J. and Jeanne Wagner Foundation.
“We are incredibly thankful for the I.J. Wagner Endowed Scholarship. It is an honor to have a scholarship named after I.J. Wagner who gave so much to the Salt Lake City community. This scholarship will enable the College of Law to provide more scholarship money to students who are need,” said Elizabeth Kronk Warner, dean of the S.J. Quinney College of Law.
“Scholarships are incredibly important to reduce education debt, allowing students the flexibility to pursue the careers of their dreams and reducing stress on students and their families. Additionally, scholarships, such as the I.J. Wagner Endowed Scholarship help retain and recruit top talent in Utah, which is wonderful for our Utah legal community,” she added.
