Linda M. Jones, adjunct professor and 1989 graduate, was recently elected to the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. She is the second member of the Academy from Utah. The other member is Michael D. Zimmerman, former Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court and 1969 graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law. Both Linda and Michael practice at the appellate boutique law firm of Zimmerman Jones Booher LLC with Troy L. Booher, Clinical Associate Professor of Law and 2002 graduate of the S.J. Quinney College of Law.
The Academy was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of appellate courts. Academy membership is limited to 500 members in the United States, and is open only to those who possess a reputation of recognized distinction as an appellate lawyer. To be eligible, a nominee’s practice must have focused substantially only on appeals during at least the last 15 years.
