University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Dean Elizabeth Kronk Warner has appointed two associate deans to her leadership team.
Amelia Rinehart will serve as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and RonNell Andersen Jones will serve as Associate Dean of Faculty and Research.
“I am honored to work with these women and am excited for their vision and leadership,” said Kronk Warner.
Both Rinehart and Andersen Jones have distinguished histories at the College of Law.
Rinehart joined the faculty in 2010. Prior to entering academia, she practiced law for several years at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe L.L.P. in New York, and Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denègre L.L.P. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she specialized in intellectual property litigation, procurement, and counseling. Rinehart is a registered patent attorney and her scholarship focuses on patent law and theory. She most recently has served as Associate Dean of Faculty and Research at the College of Law.
Andersen Jones joined the faculty in 2016. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Andersen Jones is a First Amendment scholar who teaches, researches and writes on legal issues affecting the press and on the intersection between media and the courts, with a particular emphasis on the United States Supreme Court. Her scholarship addresses issues of press access and transparency and the role of the press as a check on government. She is also a widely cited national expert on reporter’s privilege and newsgathering rights and a regular speaker on emerging areas of social media law. She most recently has served as the Lee E. Teitelbaum Endowed Chair and Professor of Law at College of Law and is an Affiliated Fellow at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project.
