Holbrook Profiled in Grinnell College Magazine

Jim Holbrook, a 1966 graduate of Grinnell College and Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, is profiled in the Winter 2009 issue of The Grinnell Magazine.

The profile, “Speaking to Ghosts,” details Holbrook’s experiences in combat in Vietnam, his training as a lawyer, and how he was inspired to embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution, or ADR. Holbrook also relates his recent experiences in Baghdad with the Global Justice Project in Iraq and reveals that writing about his combat experiences allowed him to find peace after years of struggling with the memories of the war. “Writing your story again helps you regain a sense of control,” he notes.
