Erika George, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, will present at New York Law School on Friday, May 6 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT). In this workshop, she will discuss her article “The Human Right to Health and HIV/AIDS: South Africa and South-South Cooperation to Reframe Global Intellectual Property Principles and Promote Access to Essential Medicines,” which is forthcoming in the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. The issues it raises involve South Africa, and a well-known South African case, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association v. The President of the Republic of South Africa.
On April 20, George participated in the ABF/Illinois Legal History Seminar. At that conference, she presented a paper titled “Incorporating Rights: Gender Equality and Corporate Social Responsibility in India.” An abstract of her presentation is available here.
