Craig Appointed to National Research Council Committee on Texas Water Law, Habitat Conservation

January 8, 2014 – Professor Robin Craig has been appointed to the National Academy of Science’s National Research Council Committee to Review the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Program–Phase 1. The committee will review Texas water law and the federal Endangered Species Act, as well as the science underlying the Habitat Conservation Program.

The committee’s first meeting will be held February 13-14 in San Antonio. Craig predicts that she will “learn a lot over the next year from my participation.”

In addition to her new committee appointment, Craig has served on three other National Research Council committees, all of which explored the intersection of the Clean Water Act and the Mississippi River, with a particular focus on dealing with the Gulf of Mexico’s hypoxic zone.
