Chris Takemori, a joint JD/MBA student at the University of Utah, was a member of the winning team of the ACG Cup Competition held on March 9, 2011. The five members of the University of Utah team took home a total award of $5,000 and the Utah Cup Trophy.
The ACG Cup Competition is sponsored by the ACG Utah, a part of the Association for Corporate Growth, the global community for middle market M&A dealmakers and business leaders focused on driving growth.
Described by ACG as a “premier MBA competition,” the ACG Cup is “designed to give students from leading MBA programs across the country real world experience and invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity.”
Takemori recounted that, “There were two rounds of the competition. The first round was held on the University level. The U of U, BYU, Westminster, and UVU held their own competitions. The best team from each University moved on to the state round. During this round one team from each of the schools listed above competed for the ACG Utah Cup.”
In addition to Takemori, other team members included Gavin Stoddard, Zac Peeler, Bill Shelton (son of the College of Law’s own Kay Shelton), and Gibson Peters.
