There is nothing better than a good story, especially when you’re in it! When the College of Law celebrates its 100th birthday next year, there will be plenty of stories to share, friends to reconnect with, and ways to contribute to the great legacy of the College, and also to the exciting opportunities that lay before us in the next 100 years.
When our Director of Alumni Relations Karen McCleese, retired in the fall of 2011 after more than 30 years of dedicated service to the College, she left behind a treasure trove of memorabilia. Karen kept everything from old photographs to retirement and investiture announcements, to thank you letters from students. It’s only natural that we would want to share these mementos with the College of Law community, and it was particularly serendipitous that these materials were revealed to us on the eve of our centennial.
The College of Law History Project Portal (https://history.law.utah.edu/) is a virtual gateway for sharing the collective memories of students, staff, faculty and alumni in a platform that is highly engaging, interactive, and conveniently accessible on the Internet. The website was created to bring our community together in the interest of a common vision of excellence in legal education and public service.
The portal will be a center of activity during our centennial year. Relive those memories of law school by visiting the portal for information about important events, class reunion announcements, and engaging vignettes created by your classmates.
To access the portal, use your desktop computer, iPad, or smartphone and visit this URL: https://history.law.utah.edu/. On the website, you will find numerous options for enjoying multimedia presentations, browsing the digital photographs collections, and seeing the most recent activity of your classmates and former professors. There is even a way for you to join the conversation by contributing your memories in the “Share your Stories and Photos” and “Identify Old Photos” sections.
So join the conversation and reconnect with your law school family as we celebrate this historic milestone. Here’s to another hundred hears of excellence!
