Joseph Shaffer Taggart, a joint MBA/JD student at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was recently featured in the U’s The Daily Utah Chronicle.
Taggart, a 3L, was paralyzed in a body-surfing accident in Guatemala in 2006. After missing only one semester, he returned to the U to complete his undergraduate degrees in political science and international studies.
After graduation, he worked at the Disability Law Center and devoted energy to lobbying lawmakers to help fund disability programs. As a graduate student, he has continued to work on accessibility and structural design issues.
