Dean Hiram Chodosh and Anneliese Booher, director of the Professional Development Office at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, were recently interviewed by Utah Business magazine on the state of the legal job market.
Both expressed cautious optimism that after several difficult years, the outlook for new law graduates is slowly improving. Booher noted that, “There has been a small flurry of hires in some areas, like intellectual property.”
Chodosh emphasized that the demand for legal services remains strong, but that many cannot manage to pay the fees. ““What the legal profession hasn’t figured out is a way to price their legal services so they are affordable for most people.”
