From April 15-28, Hiram Chodosh, dean of the SJ Quinney College of Law, and Jim Holbrook, professor of law at the college, will visit western India, where they will teach mediation and negotiation concepts and skills.
During their two-week stay, Chodosh and Holbrook will travel to the cities of Mumbai, Goa andBhopal, where they will serve as lead speakers and curricula advisers to Indian judges, law professors, and lawyers. The two are also expected to interact extensively with mediators and members of bar associations. Their visit coincides with a major “ADR Education in LawSchools” initiative designed to promote the positive aspects of ADR to future lawyers and legal experts.
Tasneem Kalsekar, cultural affairs specialist with the American Center in Mumbai, India, extended the invitation to Chodosh and Holbrook, and has high hopes for their visit: “Together the two speakers will complement each other and provide guidance on how law schools and study courses on ADR can effectively contribute to legal reform by producing top-quality professional mediators.
