SALT LAKE CITY (March 20, 2015) – Cecilia Romero Partner of Holland & Hart LLP and 2002 S.J. Quinney College of Law graduate, has been chosen by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) as one of the recipients of its 2015 “Top Lawyers Under 40” award. This award celebrates ten highly qualified winners from across the country and highlights the accomplishments and contributions of HNBA members who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession. The award honors lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.

Ms. Romero’s practice focuses on employment litigation and consulting, advising clients on employment issues and defends employers in a variety of matters, including Fair Labor Standards Act, class actions, wrongful terminations, harassment, and discrimination claims. In addition, she does commercial litigation.
Ms. Romero’s accomplishments are recognized by Super Lawyers® as a “Mountain States Rising Star,” as well as one of Utah’s Super Lawyers for Business Litigation and Labor & Employment. In 2013, she was presented with the Utah State Bar’s Raymond S. Uno Award For the Advancement of Minorities in the Legal Profession. Ms. Romero is regularly included in Utah Business magazine’s “Legal Elite,” a special recognition of the state’s top attorneys as selected by their peers. Utah Business also recognized her in 2010 as one of their “30 Women to Watch,” an annual feature identifying 30 “passionate, driven, and focused” women from Utah’s business community. Ms. Romero earned her J.D. and her B.A. from the University of Utah, is married to former Utah State Senator Ross Romero and is the mother of two children, Marcus (9) and Marcela (4).
Ms. Romero received her award on March 19, 2015, at the HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
