Cassell to Testify Before Sentencing Commission

On Tuesday, October 20, Paul Cassell, a Professor of Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, will testify at a hearing before the U.S. Sentencing Commission in Denver.

Cassell’s testimony will focus on his argument that the Commission should adopt policy statements giving victims a greater role in the sentencing guidelines process. He further argues that the limited role for victims is inconsistent with the role for victims that the U.S. Congress envisioned when it passed the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
