Paul Cassell, a professor of law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law and former federal judge, will appear on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on May 29.
Cassell, who will appear on the program via video feed, will discuss President Barack Obama’s nomination of federal appeals court judge Sonia Sotomayor for the U.S. Supreme Court.
Cassell said that he believes Judge Sotomayor’s judicial record marks her as an extremely liberal judge, who (if confirmed) is likely to provide a reliable vote for the liberal wing of the U.S. Supreme Court. He also believes that she is likely to be ultimately confirmed.
The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer airs at 6:00 p.m. MDT on KUED Channel 7.
