Cassell Op-Ed on Prosecutorial Power Appears in NY Times

Paul Cassell, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and a former federal judge, published a New York Times op-ed on August 19, 2012.

Titled “Limit Control Over Charges and Sentencing,” the editorial argues that federal prosecutors currently wield too much power and that “modest steps toward accountability” should be taken to ensure that “the power prosecutors exercise does not encroach on the functions of the other branches.”
