Baradaran to Speak on ‘Ethics of Big Data’ Panels at U’s Business School

Shima Baradaran, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, is one of the speakers on the “Ethics of Big Data” panel series sponsored by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the University of Utah.

The panels will be held on Friday, November 8 and Friday, December 13 in the Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building Auditorium in the David Eccles School of Business.

In addition to Baradaran, a partial list of other speakers includes Ben Wizner, director of the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy & Technology Project; James Bamford, best-selling author and journalist, who is noted for writing about U.S. intelligence agencies and the NSA; Rebecca Rosen, senior associate editor at The Atlantic, who writes about the intersection of technology and society; and Jan Root, CEO of the Utah Health Information Network.
